AIMLASER has developed a series of coaxial dual-laser modules designed for laser aiming devices and other compact optical systems requiring two different laser wavelengths in a single assembly.

The dual-laser configuration can combine visible and infrared wavelengths, such as 520 nm & 850 nm, 650 nm & 850 nm, 520 nm & 940 nm, or 650nm & 940 nm. The output power and operating mode of each wavelength can be customized according to the application requirements.

Multiple Wavelength Combinations

Typical wavelength combinations include:

  • 520 nm & 850 nm

  • 650 nm & 850 nm

  • 520 nm & 940 nm

  • 650 nm & 940 nm

For each laser wavelength, the output power can be independently configured. Typical power options include 1 mW, 5 mW, and 10 mW.

The operating mode can also be customized, including CW (continuous wave) or TTL modulation. Each laser wavelength is controlled by an independent circuit, allowing the two lasers to be operated separately according to the requirements of the aiming system.

Two Dual-Laser Configurations

AIMLASER offers two different mechanical and optical configurations for coaxial dual-laser modules.

Shared Optical Aperture

In the first configuration, an optical design allows the two wavelengths to share a single output aperture.

When one wavelength is required, the corresponding laser is activated while the other laser remains off. This configuration provides a compact solution while maintaining a common optical output path.

Parallel Dual-Module Configuration

The second configuration uses a mechanical housing connector to mount two individual laser modules together while keeping their optical axes parallel.

This design provides greater flexibility for applications where the two laser modules need to remain physically independent while being integrated into the same aiming device.

Compact Beam Performance

The dual-laser modules are designed for compact aiming applications where beam alignment and mechanical stability are important.

Typical optical specifications include:

  • Beam size: <10 × 22 mm @ 20 m

  • Divergence: <0.6 mrad

  • Dual-beam co-alignment: ≤0.5 mrad

  • Operating voltage: 3.0 VDC

  • Power supply: 1 × CR123A battery

The dual-beam co-alignment specification helps maintain a close alignment between the two laser beams, making the module suitable for applications where the visible and infrared aiming points need to correspond closely.

Independent Circuit Control

Each laser wavelength can be controlled independently through its own circuit.

The circuit can be configured with Auto Power Control (APC), providing stable laser output during operation. Depending on the application, different control methods such as CW or TTL can be specified for each wavelength.

This independent control architecture allows system designers to integrate different operating modes into the same aiming device.

Designed for Mechanical Stability

Laser modules integrated into aiming devices can be exposed to vibration and mechanical shock during operation. To address these requirements, the dual-laser modules are designed with mechanical stability in mind.

Typical environmental test standards include:

  • Vibration: DIN EN 60068-2-6

  • Shock: DIN EN 60068-2-29

These tests help evaluate the module's resistance to vibration and mechanical shock during use.

Custom Dual-Laser Solutions

The combination of visible and infrared lasers provides flexibility for aiming systems that require different wavelengths for different operating conditions.

AIMLASER can customize the wavelength combination, output power, operating mode, circuit control, mechanical configuration, and beam alignment according to specific application requirements.

Typical applications include laser aiming devices, visible/IR aiming systems, optical alignment equipment, and other compact systems requiring two independently controlled laser wavelengths in one assembly.
